We work closely with you to find out all we can about the project and how best to achieve your goals. Before we get down to work, we get to know you and your organization, so the design reflects your own point of view, right from the start.
Building on our research, we explore various creative strategies that will help you meet your objectives and establish a course of action that will be a blueprint for success.
Guided by the chosen concept, we craft a unique, one-of-a-kind visual solution that will effectively communicate the goals of your project through design, from the big picture to the smallest detail.
We put the design into action, working with you to implement the strategy in all its varied forms. We help you with project management, oversight and follow through.
IWS/A is an architecture practice with an emphasis on pragmatic research and building realization. Our portfolio is a manifestation of the processes of collaboration and consideration of the unique qualities and constraints of each project. A spirit of collaboration is the backbone of the studio’s design and project-management processes. Partners play an integral role in every step of project development and progress. Guided by ongoing dialogue with clients, consultants, artists and craftspeople, we are committed to the discovery of our clients' core challenges and goals.
We do not specialize in one type of market or building. Our scope of work begins at a project’s conception — sounding out ideas — through the project’s completion of construction, with an eye on the post-occupancy issues of the building itself.
IWS/A Architects has won several awards and has been featured in numerous design journals and publications.

Our workshop-style design studio is an extension of our architecture practice into Identity and Interior Design. We look beyond wall finishes in creating unique spatial identity and provide our clients design solutions that act beyond aesthetic. We often integrate values, strategies, identity, and innovative solutions into our design. We create teams and collaborations that give form to the concerns of each project.
A signature or style is not what we are about.
We are interested in the evolution of an idea, from visual identity to spatial planning. We avoid stylistic mimicry. We nurture the process in finding the best possible solution.
Project challenges (site constraints, budgets, schedules, local authorities, builder skills and consultant coordination) offer opportunities. The specificities of project limitations require vigilant follow-through but also lead to surprising solutions.
A key focus in the resolution of projects is the identification of a project specific response and synthesis of the design elements to deliver innovative solutions that respond to the uniqueness of the project that reinforce the sense of place and identity.
